My experience with an internship abroad
When I heard that I had the opportunity to do an internship abroad during my studies, I knew right away that I wanted to do it. It seemed like a great chance to learn new things and broaden my knowledge. After much consideration, I decided to go to Málaga, where I could work on my skills and also learn about the culture.
When I arrived at my internship placement abroad, I felt a bit nervous but also excited. Everything was new to me – the language, the way of working, and the people. But I was determined to do my best and learn a lot during my time there.
My first internship took me to a local restaurant. Although I started with enthusiasm and the people I worked with were very nice, I soon discovered that there wasn’t enough work and challenges. I felt limited in my growth and longed for more challenges.
After four weeks, I felt it was time to take action. I decided to talk to JongLeren.es to find a solution together with the restaurant. Despite some good conversations, it turned out that it was not possible to improve the situation. That was disappointing, but it also gave me the opportunity to explore new possibilities.
In the final discussion between JongLeren.es and the restaurant, JongLeren.es offered me an internship with them. This was an unexpected turn, but I immediately expressed my eagerness to take it. The opportunity to further develop my skills and explore a new environment was exactly what I needed.
Although my previous internship didn’t quite meet my expectations, I am grateful for the lessons I learned there and the experiences I gained. Sometimes setbacks lead us to new and better paths, and I am happy that I can seize this new opportunity. Now I am looking forward with enthusiasm to what the future will bring at my new internship company.
In addition to my internship, I also have the opportunity to explore the culture of the country. I visit interesting places, try different kinds of food, and meet many new people.
I am now halfway through my internship and looking forward to this new adventure!
