Hi, we are Joëlle and Melanie.
We follow the pedagogical employee training at the da Vinci in Gorinchem. We were told that we could do an internship abroad and that seemed like a great idea! We chose Spain, Malaga. After a few conversations it became more and more serious and it all came very close. The farewell parties were approaching and it was time to pack our bags.
Week on vacation
Once at the airport we still didn’t really realize that we were going to leave for 9 weeks. We felt more like we were going on vacation for a week, haha. Once we arrived at the airport in Malaga we quickly went to find our suitcases, we were already waiting for more than 15 minutes at the wrong suitcase belt, good start =). When we finally found our bags, we walked towards the exit where Joyce and her husband were waiting for us. Around midnight we arrived in our super nice apartment. The next morning we unpacked our suitcases, did some shopping and explored the village.
We were received super nice on stage and they are all great people! We learn a lot because things are very different here than in the Netherlands. We are having a great time here, and we are enjoying it! We also have a whole Spanish group of friends, all of them top people.
We’ve already had 4 weeks and ‘only’ 5 weeks to go. On the one hand we dread going home again, but on the other hand; East West home is best!
We want to thank Joyce for all the effort and effort she puts in for us, we are very happy with that!
