Company description
An aid organization in Málaga that deals with support for vulnerable target groups has room for a social service provider student. It is a very interesting internship where you can learn a lot. The vulnerable target groups that you have to think about are groups such as; the elderly, immigrants, addicts, the homeless, prostitutes and the disabled. This is why you will have to deal with many different people with different problems during your internship. The organization is based in Málaga. The city where the sun shines 300 days a year, the truly authentic Spanish culture can be seen in the streets and where people are known for their openness and friendliness.
The work
During the internship you will get a glimpse into the profession of social service provider in a Mediterranean country. You will participate in the daily activities and depending on your level of Spanish you will be deployed on multiple projects and activities. Here you will work together with the clients. Examples of activities are; supporting food distribution, initial reception of refugees and setting up activities of refugees and immigrants.
The criteria
You follow an MBO or HBO training to become a social service provider or social cultural worker or a similar direction. It is important that you are a go-getter, because you work with vulnerable and sometimes difficult target groups. So you don’t shy away from confronting work situations. In addition, you are strong in your shoes and you are willing to learn a lot in your field of work. It is important for this internship to master basic Spanish. For this reason, we recommend that you do an (online) course in advance so that you can immediately use your Spanish during your internship and develop it further.
